Nanowrimo Day 1 – It begins…

Word count: 1432

Writing sessions: 3 (as of 5pm)

Doing fairly well. Got some words written before I left for work, and on the bus both way. Managed to forget my office key-card, and as I’m usually the first to flex-time in, ended up walking around the neighborhood listening to Storywonk podcasts, eating my apple and drinking my strawberry milk, until 9am. If only there had been a nice comfy place to write open that early.

I’m starting to wonder if I’ll run out of outlined plot before 50k. However, with Star Patrol that shouldn’t be much of a problem, as I’m also well familiar with the second adventure of these intrepid space adventurers – the Imperion Confrontation. So if I need to, I can just jump right into that storyline!

Write-in tonight at Williams coffee on the pier. Whoo-hoo!

So how’s your nano going?

Was considering it again for 2011 but then broke my wrist. Typing is a real pain with only one hand, so it’s not going to happen.

  3. I spend the better part of the day with brainstorming and outlining my story, because I had not nearly enough info to start until this evening.
In the past 4 hours, I’ve managed my first 1700-something words and they have turned out quite nice, I believe. I am finding the voices for story and the characters itself, slowly but steadily.
So I treat myself now to read and answer some emails and blogs and forums πŸ™‚

  4. Off to a solid start – 1769 today. Hopefully I can continue to build up a cushion so I’m not INSANE towards the end…but now I’ve probably jinxed it. πŸ˜‰

That sounds like a great start, I would’ve been really annoyed about the morning’s lost time! πŸ™‚
