Six Sentence Sunday – Gotta have that look 11

Remember to check out the full list of participants over at the Six Sentence Sunday home site. In the world of the future, anybody can use genetic treatments to look exactly how they want – or can they? Thanks to everybody who’s given me feedback so far.

First Six. Second Six. Third Six. Fourth Six. Fifth Six. Sixth Six.
Seventh Six. Eighth Six. Ninth Six. Tenth Six.

I woke up in a bed with stiff white sheets, and could feel a needle taped into the soft underside of my elbow and one of those crazy hoses stuffed into a spot where you never want to have anything going into your body, even if it lets you take a piss without getting up out of bed.

The lights were so bright that I couldn’t keep my eyelids up for more than a second, but I got an impression of a hospital room in that second. (Not that I really remember being in a hospital room, but you see them on Graph videos all the time.) While I was recovering from that overdose of light, I heard footsteps crossing the room, and suddenly there was much less light filtering through my closed eyes. I tried opening again, and was able to make out an unfamiliar figure standing next to the light switch.

“You’re a damn idiot, Jimmy Shelton.”

Thanks for all the feedback! I will try to bring back presents from Dragon*Con for all of you, but it might take a little while. 😉

Oo, have fun at Dragon Con! Great six to leave us with. Clearly he made the wrong decision as it’s landed him in a hospital bed. Great details.

I love the inner dialogue and how he sees the world/situation he’s woken up in. I wonder who the “stranger” is? Great six!

  3. Nice six. 🙂 You’re doing a really good job of making the setting real with details.
