A is for Alien Abudction!

For the A to Z challenge this year, I’m sharing science fiction and fantasy story ideas that I might write. If you’re interested enough to pick them up and write your own version, feel free; ideas are cheap. And let me know! I’ll be keeping the notions vague enough that lots of different stories might be written from them.

This ‘Alien Abduction’ idea is one that I had last fall and put aside in favor of Kitchen Scale:

An exhibitionist is taken prisoner and transported to a human exhibit in a ‘glass house zoo’ on Titan, where humans are expected to compete for treats in front of the eyes of aliens. At first, she loves the attention, then competes with some of the other humans to be the most popular. Struggling with homesickness, she decides she wants to go back home, and must convince the other humans to stage a ‘boredom protest’ that will convince the aliens to send them back to their natural habitat because they aren’t interesting to watch anymore.

Thanks for visiting!

  1. Huh…cute idea! I don’t think I personally could pull it off, but I bet some writer out there could do wonders with it. ^_^

I like this idea, though at first I was like, “huh, likes the attention?” Then I went back and saw she was an exhibitionist. haha. At first I thought it was gonna be a serious, scary story, but the last bit tipped me off the the amusement factor. 😛

    What a cool A to Z theme!

It’s an interesting idea and if I were to write it, I would tell the whole story from the end to the beginning. Dropping by on the A to Z. I will have to check back to see what else you come up with. I am a SciFi person so I find all of the stories interesting.

Cute concept. I think I’d have a hard time keeping it engaging during the “boredom protest”…. but, a cool idea nonetheless. 🙂

To keep it engaging during the protest, it could be a bit more of a battle to even get away with protesting. Like their current ways of entertaining give them things like access to bathe, food, relaxation. So not entertaining, or protesting, would mean slowing losing those privileges.

It’s nice to see someone who takes the same sort of approach to ideas I do. There are a lot of people who lock away their ‘great idea’ because they’re terrified of it being stolen, when they should be more worried about the hundred different ways it’s possible to write each idea.
