D is for Duel

For the A to Z challenge this year, I’m sharing science fiction and fantasy story ideas…

Dad and daughter duel.

What are they dueling about?

Does Dad disagree with daughter’s dating decisions?

A dubious disaster of a duel, you might declare. Do you have a different explanation for the duel?

If you’re interested enough to pick this up and write your own version, feel free; ideas are cheap. And let me know! I’ll be keeping the notions vague enough that lots of different stories might be written from them.

Thanks for visiting!

The duel is over the mother’s/wife’s love and attention, possbily.

A duel sparks over the breakfast table for the last jelly filled donut. They’ve been eyeing it over coffee and white toast for almost an hour. Tensions are high, and when dear old dad lifts his fork–possible for another slice of bacon–but equally possibly for that delicious donut, the ever impulsive good daughter casts aside her butter knife in favor of her dagger of destiny, throws back her chair and growls, “It’s on, old man.”

  3. I do declare, this does sound downright delightful! 🙂 Does the daughter’s dog dine on Dad’s donuts? Sorry, couldn’t help but chime in with the fun ‘d’ alliteration. 🙂

  4. Yeah, dads generally don’t like their daughter’s dating decisions….

    Thanks for the fun post!

This instantly made me think of some epic battle between a daughter and her evil dad who she knows she has to kill for some reason. 🙂
