Y is for a Year of Youth

April 29, 2014

For the A to Z challenge this year, I’m sharing science fiction and fantasy story ideas…

This would have to be fantasy magic, I think. Somebody gets a year to leave old age behind and become young (and beautiful) again, but once the year is up, that’s it, they won’t get a chance again. Who wants this and why? How do they pick which year?

Maybe it isn’t for one particular person, but a land where everybody gets a year of youth, assuming that they live long enough to grow out of their natural youth. How would that change people’s opinions about aging? Would they still think that youth was wasted on the young?

If you’re interested enough to pick this up and write your own version, feel free; ideas are cheap. And let me know! I’ll be keeping the notions vague enough that lots of different stories might be written from them.

Thanks for visiting!

P is for a Pretty Penny (of Pulchritude)

April 18, 2014

For the A to Z challenge this year, I’m sharing science fiction and fantasy story ideas…

This is another Premise that came to me off the cuff, but I rather like it. Magic pennies that affect your appearance. I’m not entirely sure how they work, but maybe you get to flip the penny just once and live with the results. If it comes up heads, you wind up with a pretty face. For tails, it might be a part further down your body that ends up looking good. 😉 And whichever way the flip comes up, the other side might get less pretty…

If you’re interested enough to pick this up and write your own version, feel free; ideas are cheap. And let me know! I’ll be keeping the notions vague enough that lots of different stories might be written from them.

M is for the Magic Milkshake

April 15, 2014

For the A to Z challenge this year, I’m sharing science fiction and fantasy story ideas…

So we’ve got a magic milkshake. Who serves it? A mom of course, to her daughter.

What’s the magic supposed to do? The mom is trying to make sure that she goes steady with a rich boy from a successful family, (despite the girl’s own ideas.) Maybe the boy gets a magic milkshake of his own.

If you’re interested enough to pick this up and write your own version, feel free; ideas are cheap. And let me know! I’ll be keeping the notions vague enough that lots of different stories might be written from them.

Thanks for visiting!
