Good evening, Nanoers and adjacents. Are you nearly at fifty thousand words this evening? Today’s spotlight is on Luna, and If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense.
How and why did you end up participating in National Novel Writing Month?
This is my first time taking part. I hadn’t really planned on it but over the last year a lot of things have been going wrong so my writing had taken a major back step. Nanowrimo was my-get-back-on-the-horse-thing, to pick it up again. Yet as I write this I’m unsure if I’ll “win” because those same distractions are back. If I don’t – I’m still really glad I took part.
What are you writing about this year?
My story is a diary, or rather a series of letters written by seventeen year old girl named Lauren. She was the sole survivor of a car accident which killed both her older brother and twin sister. The story begins a few months after the accident when Lauren returns to school.
What’s your favorite part of Nanowrimo and why?
My cheerleaders!!! I recruited the girls in my writing group and they’ve been sending me messages and tweets throughout. There weren’t any meets in my area, the closest was 25 minutes away on the train and because of work and holiday stuff I couldn’t really attend. I’m quite sad I missed out on that.
Who’s the best character in your Nano?
Sasha, she’s feisty and has a wicked sense of humour. Sasha is Lauren’s sister-in-law and has been through a lot to get where she is, but instead of moping about it she fights on. She’s also one of the few characters that views Lauren as a person independent from her dead twin.
Sneaky Ninja Question! Are you more of a planner, or a spontaneous person?
I used to be a pantser all the way but actually tried really hard to be a planner for Nanowrimo, I ended up doing a whole post about it and while I did stick to the outline for the most part my pantser-self got carried away on occasion.
I’m awake this late and using this as a distraction because someone from my family is back in hospital. I’m not sure if I’ll complete Nanowrimo because of this. I’m going to try and sleep but don’t think I’ll manage. Not sure if that makes much sense…
It makes some sense to me, Luna. Best of health to your family and best wishes on your sleep!
We all love Luna, and we’re just praying her family is all right and she can get back to her writing soon.
Big hugs,
Rach

Thank you all.
*hugs cheerleaders*
Because of visiting hour restrictions and already having the last two days booked of work I used writing as a distraction and it worked as I completed my story a couple of hours ago. 🙂
